What to Bring

  • Comfortable sportswear that allows you to move freely (not your best clothes – they might get scuffed). In winter, bring a hoodie and slippers for when you're taking a break.
  • A water bottle and a small snack (our café has you covered too).

Gear

  • A complete setup includes climbing shoes, harness, chalk, belay device with carabiner, and rope.
  • Don't have your own gear? You can easily rent everything from our rental shop.
  • You can always add to your kit over time. Our shop at the wall has great advice and a wide selection.
  • Ropes at BigWall must be at least 50 meters long; if you're not sure, we recommend renting from us.

Climbing Culture

  • Climbers use first names and greet each other with a friendly "hi" – at the reception and at the wall, even if they've never met before.
  • We support each other – it's totally normal for someone to cheer you on. If you like how someone climbs, feel free to compliment them or ask for tips.
  • However, avoid giving unsolicited advice on how to climb a route or boulder – climbers prefer figuring it out themselves.
  • If you see a safety issue or rule violation, please speak up.
  • Whenever you need anything, feel free to ask our staff or other climbers – the community is friendly and welcoming.
